Every container has two limits — how much it holds by volume (cubic yards) and how much it holds by weight (tons). Most people only think about volume.
If you’re loading light material — furniture, drywall, household goods — you’ll hit the volume limit first and the container looks full.
If you’re loading heavy material — concrete, shingles, dirt, tile — you can hit the weight limit when the container is only half full. That’s the overage charge nobody expects.
Tell us your heaviest material when you call. We put you in the right container so you pay exactly what we quoted — nothing more.
Very heavy — always needs a smaller container or partial fill. Pure concrete loads max out a 10-yard at half capacity.
One square (100 sqft) = ~350 lbs. A 20-yard handles most standard residential roofs cleanly.
